The US Open hits our screens this month, June 17-20, and returns to one of the most famous golf courses in the world - Pebble Beach Golf Links.
Lining the Pacific coast of California, Pebble Beach is a notoriously difficult course, with nearly every hole incorporating the rugged coastline.
The Par-3 7th hole (pictured above) is one of the most photographed holes in world golf. Playing just 100-yards, even during Major events, players are required to hit tee shots from an elevated tee straight out towards the Pacific Ocean, with the violent surf crashing into the rocks around the green.
This will be the fifth time Pebble Beach has hosted the second Major of the season, with Jack Nicklaus winning the first US Open at the venue in 1972, and Tiger Woods winning the last back in 2000.
Lucas Glover was the surprise name that claimed last year’s US Open at Bethpage Black, as he carved his way around the New York course to victory.
This year he has struggled and despite a third place finish at the recent Players Championship at Sawgrass he is an outsider to retain his title.
