clubgolf 4th May 2010
Dear clubgolfers,
It was good to see some of the old and lots of new faces on Sunday for the start of clubgolf, it was a chilly start and some of the children could have been slightly better dressed for the weather, so Mum's and Dad's can you keep an eye on the weather please.
As usual the sessions start at 4.15 pm and end at 5.45pm prompt, all children will be delivered back to the visitors club house to be picked up unless advised differently on the day.
The P5's on Sunday learned all about putting and the pendulum swing and will now progress onto learning how to chip the golf ball onto the green. P6's started off on the 25th April with a refresher on what had been learned the year before, before commencing onto Bunker shots and full swing, this coming Sunday will be about tightening up their skills on chipping onto a green and maximum 2 puts to finish the hole.
Jules and myself handed out information packs on the fun competions that East Lothian schedules into the years programme, there is no handicap required as the emphasis is on fun and meeting other clubgolfer's and also trying your hand on different courses. If you wish your child to enter any of the competitions then please fill in the entry form in you information pack and send back to Kate Green at Meadowmill sports centre. The information packs also contained emergency contact numbers, this can be used in case your not sure if the sessions will go ahead due to the weather, but in most cases we will contact the parents. And finally, John Griffiths the P6 coach will be attending a level 1 advanced training course this Sunday in Stirling, this will help clubgolf Gullane benefit from John's training.

ReplyDeleteThe blog looks great. I presume you put the blog site in the info pack? If you get the kids to see if they can get into the site then show their parents?

Andy - I really think that this is a very good idea - we should make sure that we mention this to the kids on Sunday.
