Babe Zaharias Cup 2010

Dear Golfer,
Again another great turnout from Gullane primary school for the Babe Zaharias cup.




The weather was exceptional and all competitors had a great time.

I would especially like to thank all the volunteer scorers for their time and patience in escorting the children around the course, Gullane golf club for supporting the competition and John at the visitors centre who with his team fed and watered all the children.

All results are with Mrs Tremmel at Gullane primary and will be put on the notice board, but the 1st 3 results for each competition are as follows.

Babe Zaharias 18 Hole competition results:

The winner Matthew Brady 89

Second place William Ladbrooke 95

Third place: Charlotte Munro 98

I'm sure you will agree, impressive scoring for 10 and 11 year olds and congratulations to Matthew.


In recent years another mini competition has been running for the children who have just started golfing or who are thinking of starting. Again all scores are with Mrs Tremmel, but here are the top 3.

Dont forget! if you're thinking of entering this competition in 2011 then get practicing. Gullane GC maintain the 6 hole children's course which is free to all children.


Gullane also run a clubgolf programme between April and September that is an introduction to the basics of Golf and as usual will be offered to P5's next year.

Gullane professional Alasdair Good and his team also offer a variety of lessons to players of all ages and experience.
