The Lothians Boys team of Grant Forrest (Craigielaw), Anthony Blaney (Liberton), Graeme Duncan (Kingsknowe) and Fraser Thain (West Linton) won the Scottish Boys Team Championship at Peebles today. After some excellent golf they were ahead by 5 shots after the morning foursomes with a 2 under par score of 138 (Forrest and Blaney 66, Duncan & Thain 72). The Scottish Boys Champion, Grant Forrest, lead the team home with an individual score of 72, that was matched by Fraser Thain with Anthony Blaney 74 and Graeme Duncan 76 not far behind. The team beat Lanarkshire by 4 shots with South just 1 shot further back. Junior Convenor Paul Gibson, ably supported by his assistant John Allan, was delighted with the result following a lot of careful preparation work in which Dean Robertson was a major contributor. |
