Driving into June with the U.S Kids European Championship

Welcome to the June edition of my Proshop newsletter.

It has been a nice start to the month in Gullane so far with the US Kids European Championship. I'm pleased to report the tournament was hailed by many as a great success and I'm still receiving thank you letters from competitors and their families. I would also like to thank the many Members who gave so willingly of their time for this much appreciated assistance. The quality of golf, in every age group, was of a very high standard and wonderful to see so many of our own juniors doing so well. The Van Horn Cup, which was played at the end of the week, saw Europe have a comfortable victory over the Rest of the World. I know both Longniddry and Craigielaw enjoyed having the event and I look forward to starting the 2011 planning processes shortly.

June is a particularly busy season for golf, the British Amateur is currently being played at Muirfield and we are hosting the Scottish Amateur at the end of the month. I hope you will take the oppurtunity to come along and view some more of the up and coming young players.

This month we focus on the Driver, giving you some hints and tips on how to find the middle of the fairway, avoiding the ever growing rough and take a closer look at the latest drivers from golf’s top manufacturers that I'm offering in the pro shop.

We also continue our monthly series with European Tour player Alastair Forsyth who this month will give us a unique insight into the behind the scenes life of a touring golf professional.

The second Major of the season is also rapidly approaching with Pebble Beach hosting the US Open, read a preview of the tournament below.

As always if there is anything you would like to discuss whether it’s about your game, your equipment or even a rules query, come into the pro shop and we’ll be happy to help.

Enjoy the read
