East Lothian v Loretto Golf Academy
On a sunny, windy night at Whitekirk, East Lothian continued their unbeaten run by narrowly beating Loretto by 4 games to 3. The match consisted of 7 fourball matches with the EL team fielding a number of our younger up and coming stars including Connor Farrell, Aaron Buchanan and William Ladbrooke (the latter 2 being only 10 years of age!) The boys played competitively but with fantastic respect for the game and their opponents and are a credit to their respective clubs and themselves and Ric Foulner passes on his best wishes to you all over the summer months. The only downside was that the last 2 games had to finish early due to a lack of light (some very slow play in one of the earlier matches.) Our thanks go to Iain McLean (Gullane) & Kevin Reid (Loretto) for helping in the organisation of the match, to the parents who helped and to Whitekirk GC for hosting us and making us feel very welcome. We will have at least 2 more matches to play before the end of the season and details will be forwarded nearer to the time.
7 Gullane members playing - Duncan McLean, Graham Swan, William Ladbrooke, Gary Brownlee and Scot Young for EL and John Dunn Butler and Alexander Wilson for Loretto
