Clubgolf Gullane
Dear Clubgolfer,
2 weeks into the season and everything's going well, our new coaches have settled in and really enjoying the challenge of teaching the clubgolf programme to you.
The P5 group with John Griffiths heading it up have enjoyed the 1st 2 sessions learning how to putt and chip the golf ball around the greens and have been on Gullane children's course and the putting greens at the starters shed on #2.
The P6 group with Jules Frostwick on the 1st week had a refresher course on Putting and Chipping and last Sunday's lesson was all about the full swing and the dreaded bunker shot.
This weeks lesson's for the P5 group will be on the full swing and the P6 group will be honing their skills on putting and chipping.
Remember you can help yourselves by practicing on the children's course anytime it's free and you can even take an adult around with you.
Along with the introductory starter pack's that was handed out, you will have noticed that a junior golf fixture list for 2011 was included. This fixture list highlights up and coming event for all abilities but for clubgolfers i always highlight the "fun competitions" calendar. It's really easy to enter and will give you good experience around the different courses that East Lothian has to offer. The next fun competition is on the 15th May at Dunbar, all competitions cost just £2 to enter and can be paid on the day, if you are interested in joining in then please let Kate Green "junior golf development officer" at Meadowmill sports centre know so that the Clubs have an idea of numbers.
We have been very lucky with the weather these last 2 weeks but as you know that's not always the case. If for any reason due to bad weather it's decided to cancel the session we will try and contact your parents as quickly as possible. However if there's any doubt about the sessions then i will leave a message with the Gullane pro shop who can be contacted on 01620 842255. Remember to always wear appropriate clothing as it can be cold as well as warm.
Ok, that's it for now, see you on Sunday.
