Flag Competition Format
Children receive a limited number of shots to get as far round the course as they can.
The player that gets the furthest in their category is the winner! It is estimated that players will take 2 hours from their tee off to play their given number of shots.
The fun competitions are open to players with and without handicaps who will compete in 2 separate divisions:
Handicap Division (or S1+)
Play from standard mens or ladies tees.
The number of shots you will receive is the 9 hole par plus half of you handicap.
If you are in S1+ but don’t have an official handicap you will be awarded a handicap of 36.
Non-Handicap Division (P7-)
You will play from forward clubgolf tees approx. 200 yds max from the green.
You will receive 45 shots. Whenever possible you will have an adult accompanying you round the course to help you with rules etc. Non-handicappers are encouraged not to worry too much about the actual competition side of things as the main aim is to have fun and practice. Younger players with very little golf experience should start with the competitions on the Children's Courses, these are: Craigielaw, North Berwick, Gullane and Fisherrow. You can then work up to the other competitions which are played from forward tees on full courses.
Parents: If you are available to walk a group round please could you let me know.
East Lothian Fun Competition Order of Merit ( LADBROOKES DOING WELL ! )
All the fun competitions count towards the East Lothian Fun Competition Order of Merit.
Players in both divisions receive points for placing and participating.
The top 6 players in both the categories will be invited to come along to a Special Prize Winners Day at the end of the season.
Still everything to play for in the season ahead ...... GOOD LUCK!
