Round up of the Week

Been heaps of activity away from Gullane and here is a round up of what's been going on

Scottish Boys Under 16s Aucherarder

A tricky course and some testing winds ! Alexander and Duncan finished well down the field and failed to make the 36 hole cut. Both are energised by the experience and know they need to work on their games and course management in order to challenge at this level next year.

Anthony Blaney fared better, demonstrating his added years and experience coming in 9th with a score of  216, nine over par. He looked like he might do better until derailed by three late doubles in round 2.

Scottish Boys Under 14s Auchterarder

Again a tough windy and wet day which derailed the Gullane member playing today _ Finn, Oli and John. Scores soared ! Do we not get wind and rain here ?? Admittedly, not mixed up with trees ! Still good experience - good for these boys to qualify for and play in their first national championships. Hard work need to get into U16s next year!!

Scottish Girls Under 14s Auchterarder

Better news here though not immediately apparent from the leaderboard. Gullane members were second and third with Clara scoring a fantastic 70, finishing with two birdies and Eloise Healey from Liverpool, who recently received honorary junior membership for a year following her performance in the US Kids, coming in with a fine 73. Well done and congratulations to both !

European Girls Team Championships - Denmark

Rachael and the Scottish girls team  have had a disappointing week in Aalborg - failing to qualify for the top flight knock-out stage and then losing the the Czech team.

Good luck to Rachael , Lesley and Clara girls playing at Eyemouth in the Scottish girls next week and to Anthony & Alexander in the English Under 16s and to all those playing in the Paul Lawrie Junior Jug at Craigielaw on Monday

Heres hoping regarding the clubgolf Junior Club of the Year - announced on Wednesday at St Andrews
