East Lothian v Loretto Golf Academy

A very enjoyable and competitive  match was played at Dunbar on Tuesday evening between a select team from East Lothian and the high profile Loretto Golf Academy. The course was in good condition despite the obvious effects of the recent storms and some good golf was on display at the different age groups.  Both sides were missing a few of their top players ( eg Julie Yang warming up for the Ladies European Tour German Open and Grant Forrest studying for exams ) but both proved their strength in depth with Loretto's international squad coming out on top, albeit only on the last green of the last match.

Anthony Blaney put in a solid performance alongside debutant Peter Legget and had earlier sneaked a win for East Lothian in the top match with a sterling 25 foot putt on the testing final hole, with the Gullane pairing having been behind all the way. Sami Bouzabia  & Alexander Wilson were also pleased to take the scalp of Scottish Academy players Callum Hill and Euan Bowden.

Finn Donaldson (NB) & Gary Brownlee (Tantallon ) A/S v's Laura Alexander & Migle Rusteikaite

Result  East Lothian 2 1/2  Loretto 3 1/2

From a Gullane perspective it was great to have 6 members spread between the two sides. Peter Legget got his first taste of representative action playing his part in the top game. Alexander Wilson  makes his debut for Lothian Boys on Sunday versus Perth & Kinross

Thanks to Dunbar for the use of their fine course - the venue of next year's Scottish Boys where Craigielaw player Grant Forrest will be looking to defend his crown.
