Great Opportunity for Girls @ Archerfield !!

Hi All,

Please can you pass the following email on to any of your keen girl golfers/parents of girl golfers who are in your clubgolf coaching programmes/other golf coaching sessions or who are junior members of your club/county:

Free Girls Golf Clinic – Scottish Ladies Open – Friday 19 August at 3pm

As part of the Scottish Ladies Open at Archerfield in East Lothian next week – East Lothian Council and clubgolf have been offered a fantastic opportunity of a free girls golf clinic with some of the top Scottish women professional’s such as Catriona Matthew at 3pm on Friday 19 August at Archerfield Golf Club in East Lothian. There are only 20 places available, which will be allocated on a first come, first served basis.

Girls must be keen golfers between 9-16 years of age and must not be already attending the SLGA golf clinic on Wednesday 17^th August at Archerfield.

If your daughter would like to attend, please complete the attached form and email it back to me a.s.a.p. to: lrushby@clubgolfscotland.co.uk

The 20 places will be allocated on a first come first served basis and an email confirmation will be sent to the 20 girls who have secured a place.

The clubgolf coaching programme has been running in Gullane for 5 years now, enthusiastically backed by a band of 12 volunteer coaches and both Gullane GC and Gullane Ladies GC who provide support and facilities. It is introduced through Gullane Primary School with every child in P5 taking part in firstclubgolf with plastic clubs and then those who are interested progressing to the real thing with regular coaching from the volunteers as well as from Gullane GC pro Alasdair Good and team. Coaching take place on Sunday at 4.15 pm for those in P5 / P6 with the pros taking over for those in P7 and beyond and running sessions on Mondays and Friday afternoons. We currently have nearly 50 children in the programme aged from 9 -14 with just as many boys as girls . Various competitions and trips are also organised including events at Craigielaw South Course, North Berwick Kids Course, Dalmahoy, Gleneagles and Muirfield for the Senior's Open in 2007.

East Lothian Council fully supports this initiative and employs Kate Green as Junior Golf Development Manager.
