Welcome to my October newsletter and to all those who have newly signed up to receive Proshop news, offers and updates.
After a fully supported and successful Pro's Day it's back to business as usual. In this issue I will show you some of the great products I have available in the Pro Shop. This month I'll take a look at shoes and how important it is to have the correct footwear going into the winter months, also introduce the Under Armour Collection I have in stock and the arrival of Mizuno's new range of irons.
With the winter nights fast approaching, there's still time to put in some practice on the range and even get a lesson to help you iron out some of those bad habits that may have crept into your game over the summer. We will take a look at some drills to eradicate those painful shots like the fat, the thin, the hook and the slice that can cause card ruining holes. Pro's Day A Great Success
This year's Pro's Day was played under blue skies and sunshine, albeit a little chilly. This fun day for members and invited guests included nearest the pin and longest drive prizes, Mark was at the 13th hole to be challenged in the Beat The Pro contest and Ian offered drinks and food at the bar. A putting competition with a twist for those who liked to show off there skills on the putting green along with a BBQ for players after their round, was enjoyed by all. Oli, Heather and I were in the Pro Shop running the day and welcoming on arrival. I would like to thank all members and guests for making the day such a pleasure to run. A special thanks to those who attended the prize giving at night. Congratulations to Mr and Mrs Penman for their winning score of 43 points.

Mizuno raises the bar!
Mizuno have launched a new series of irons starting with the mx-300 a grain flow forged cavity head for enhanced feel and control. The Y-tune technology provides a reduced offset bringing the feel closer to the MP range but no sacrifice on forgiveness with is high penetrating ball flight.

Under Armour Autumn 09
We now have a wide collection of Under Armour clothing in stock for gents, ladies and juniors. Under Armour started out as a base layer of clothing to be worn next to the skin, with hot and cold garments available, their mission was "TO MAKE ALL ATHLETES BETTER THROUGH PASSION, SCIENCE AND RELENTLES PURSUIT OF INNOVATION."

Is your footwear ready for winter?
With the nights drawing in and the cold and wet weather fast approaching now is a good time to take a look at your golfing footwear and making sure you have the right shoes to battle the winter elements.
The first thing to check on your shoes is the spikes, or cleats. A golfer’s footing is the foundation for the swing, if there is doubt in the footing, or worse, slippage, the swing plane will alter, which in turn will affect the ball striking and ball flight.
Next make sure your shoes are in good condition, and there’s no chance of any leakage. Nothing will disrupt your round of golf more than wet feet because water has got in to your shoes. This will also affect your swing as your foot will slip within your shoe.
