About Eaglescliffe
.
"Should you be playing golf in the North East of England, a visit to Eaglescliffe is a must. Nestled beside the River Tees with the Cleveland Hills as a backdrop, the course has been described by Golf Monthly magazine as 'a hidden gem' of English golf.
Though picturesque, the course is demanding due to the nature of the rolling terrain and sloping greens and provides a challenge for both novice and experienced golfer alike.
Eaglescliffe & District Golf Club lies one mile to the north of the historic medieval riverside town of Yarm, and is situated on rolling terrain shelving down to the River Tees. A short drive from the towns of Stockton, Darlington, and Middlesbrough, the area is readily accessible by road, rail, and air "
"Junior Section:
My congratulations go to the junior team who have performed exceptionally well this year under the guidance of Geoff Snowden, Junior Liaison Officer. The team performed well and became Teesside Golf Union Junior Team Champions for 2010.
The Juniors also achieved Durham County 1st Division Champions (southern section). They then had a play-off match against Durham City Golf Club which was played on 26 September and won which meant the team also became Durham County Junior Champions.
Congratulations to everyone involved."
They are bringing a team of 12 aged 15-18 including two girls. We are playing a match on No 1 followed by fish & chips in the Members' Clubhouse.
They are also playing The Glen and a Longniddry select
