East Lothian’s Annual “clubgolf Team Championship” sponsored by Hart Builders.

Craigielaw Golf Club hosted the 6^th Annual clubgolf Team Championship on the Wednesday 14^th of April, 2011.

The event organised by East Lothian Council’s Junior Golf Development Officer, Kate Green,  is sponsored by Hart Builders based in MacMerry.

30 players entered individually from a variety of local clubs. 

The players ranged in age and ability from junior club members with official handicaps to some that have just started participating in the 450 strong clubgolf coaching programme in East Lothian. 

The players competed in mixed ability teams, captained by a player with a congu handicap, and took park in three golfing challenge: Texas Scramble on Craigielaw’s South Course, Chipping and Putting.

The team that scored the most points over the 3 challenges won the coveted clubgolf East Lothian Team Championship.

There were also prizes for teams that performed well in each of the 3 separate challenges.

Team Chamionship Winner:  TEAM  SCOTT – Finlay Goodlad (The Glen, Team Captain), Dougal Forsyth (Gifford) and Jack Buchanan (Whitekirk)

Scramble Winner:  TEAM WOODS – Maggie Goodlad (The Glen, Team Captain), Oliver Ladbrooke (Gullane) Amy Foulner (Musselburgh) and Ruth Kowbel (North Berwick)

Chipping Winner:  TEAM CABRERRA – George Innes Ker (Gullane, Team Captain), Aaron Buchanan (Whitekirk), Murray Gilvary (North Berwick) and Robbie Whales (North Berwick)

Putting Winner:  TEAM DONALD – William Ladbrooke (Gullane, Team Captain), George Cuthbert (Gifford) and Euan MacIver (North Berwick)

All players demonstrated strong skills, team work and promise for the 2011 season.  All players will also have clocked up some more points towards the East Lothian Order of Merit.
