The event

The Lothians clubs have a very active Junior Open season running through the school summer holiday period. At present, 39 events take place.
Approximately 13 venues are selected each year for the Boys Order of Merit on a three-year rota system. These are generally 18-hole events, although Gullane, Baberton/Kingsknowe and now Marriott Dalmahoy have 36-holers.  One such 36-hole event is included in each year of the cycle.
The top ten players in the events score points as follows: 1st 100pts; 2nd 85
pts; 3rd 70pts; 4th 60pts; 5th 50pts; 6th 40pts; 7th 30pts; 8th 20pts; 9th 15pts; 10th 10pts.
A running total is kept and advertised at the counting events and on the website. At the end of the season, a trophy is awarded to the leading player and the top ten players win vouchers ranging from £50 to £15.

Gullane is not an OoM event this year but don't let that stop you playing - click here for entry form for 22 July 2011
