Eilidh leads after Round 1

Eilidh Briggs (Kilmacolm) leads by one shot from Connie Jaffrey (Troon  Ladies) and by two from Gemma Dryburgh (Beaconsfield) going in to the second and final qualifying round of the Scottish Girls' (Close) Championship. Eilidh, who was a member of the Scottish Girls team that competed in the European team Championships in Sardinia last week shot a level par round of 71 over Glenisla Golf Course. Defending Champion, Lesley Atkins (Gullane) is also well placed after a 74.  ( As is Clara )  The top 32 players will qualify for the match play Championship and the next16 players will qualify for the Ansley Reid second flight after tomorrow's second qualifying round (Wednesday 13 July).
