Hi All ! Taking just a little time (and I do mean very little time) to visualise improvements in your game pays off. Y. E. Yang had visualised how he would play against Tiger many times, so that when he got the chance he was ready. Read on to learn how to do this most effectively.

Some people think that they can't visualise, but we all think in pictures to some extent. For example, if I say 'dog', you don't say 'd-o-g' - dog. You see a dog. It can also be hard to see yourself holing putts if you've been used to missing them for a while! In this situation it helps to imagine yourself stepping out of your body and watching an image of yourself (or even someone else) sinking putts, rather than trying to imagine the ball going in from your normal view over the ball. Similarly some players find it hard to imagine the outcome of a shot. No problem - just remember a good one instead! This counts as visualisation too.

Here are a couple more simple but important tips to make your visualisation the most effective: 1. In terms of technique choose a good player to copy. It's probably worth using a mirror to check that how it feels as you copy them too. 2. As I said at the start you don't need or want to spend hours visualising. Do it for just 1 to 3 minutes, as this has been shown to be the ideal amount of time. Give it a try with one part of your game and let me know how you get on!
