The annual friendly match between ELLCGA and Scottish Borders took place today at the Hirsel Golf Club, Coldstream. It is fair to say both Captains had not appreciated that the clocks went forward the night before when organising the fixture, and the 9.45 tee off proved to be an early start for the East Lothian team with many setting off before 8am!
The team today was Clara Young, Lesley Atkins, Keren Ward, Morag MacPherson, Lesley Nicholson, Rosie Everett, Dawn Young, Anne Marshall, Nandini Nagra and Charlotte Munro.
The course was in good condition, and overhead the sun was shining. All matches were played in great spirit and it was lovely to have such a mixture of team members and very encouraging to see so many of our junior members involved.
East Lothian won the Snr Team Game 2.5/1.5 with our juniors losing out in their match (results below).
This match is enjoyed by all involved, and it is good to see old friends, and make new ones each year. This fixture that will be held in East Lothian next year when I am sure the Borders will be keen to seek revenge!
