Success for Gullane Girls !

Clara, Lara, Catherine, Nandini and Sarah took part in the first ever University of St Andrews School Girls Golf Tournament along with 35 other girls from all over Scotland.

The tournament was split into two age groups, S3/S4 and S5/S6. There were prizes in each age group for winner and runner up in both Stableford and Scratch.

The girls had a great time and thoroughly enjoyed the experience of playing both The Strathtyrum and Jubilee courses, although the weather was a bit unpredictable!!

Clara was runner up in S3/S4 Scratch with a score of 153 and Sarah was runner up in S3/S4 Stableford with 75 points.

UNIVERSITY OF ST ANDREWS SCHOOLGIRLS TOURNAMENT

REPORT FROM EMILY GRIFFITHSOn the 17th and 18th September 44 girls from all over Scotland travelled to St Andrews to compete in The University of St Andrews schoolgirls' golf Tournament 2011.
The competition comprised of a round on the Strathtyrum course and a round on the Jubilee course. In addition a university tour and short presentation about the Ladies Golf Club were given.
It was a marvellous turn out for the first year of the event and after such a wonderful response it looks likely that it will become an annual fixture. A full report and photos of the weekend will be published shortly on http://golfw.saints-sport.com/
If you would like to compete in next year's event then please email golfw@saints-sport.com and the Ladies Golf Club will be sure to send you more information nearer to the date.
The University of St Andrews Ladies Golf Club would like to thank everyone who contributed and gave support to the setting up of the competition.
