Major success for Alex as he won the final of the St Andrews Boys Open today against fellow East Lothian junior Willem Kerr of Craigielaw by 1 hole - must have been a tight match over the Old Course.
Alex qualified for the last 32 matchplay stage with a 3 over 73 on the Eden. Leading qualifier was Euan Bowden of The Glen with a 67 so a triple whammy for EL
This event involved 4 days of high level golf with a field of 150, 6 handicap or less, boys from near and far so Alex has done himself, Gullane ( and Loretto &Portmarnock ) proud !!
BRILLIANT !!
