Lothians Boys Team - AB & AW !
Lothians limber up to extend team record
Published on Saturday 9 June 2012 12:16
TEN-TIME champions Lothians already hold the record for most wins in the Dunfermline Building Society Scottish Boys Area Team event.
Tomorrow they will aim to chalk up another historic feat in the event by becoming the first side to lift the title three years in a row.
Liberton’s Anthony Blaney and Calum Hill from Tantallon have retained their places from last year’s winning side at Hayston.
Joining forces with them on this occasion are The Renaissance Club’s Alexander Wilson and Marriott Dalmahoy’s Murray Naysmith, who will be hoping for a double celebration as he turns 15 tomorrow.
“Hopefully myself and Calum will be able to provide a bit of experience after our win last year and that can stand our team in good stead,” Blaney said. “There was a wee bit of banter last year between the players after we won again so hopefully we can get the hat-trick. I was at Cowglen on Monday to look at the course and it’s tight with small greens, a bit like Liberton, so that should suit me.”
The Lothians, who have won seven of the last 12 championships, pushed Ayrshire into the runner-up spot last year after Blaney led his side home
